My research is focused on the development, evaluation and characterisation of novel heterogeneous catalysts for a range of academically and industrially relevant reactions. My principle interests lie in the use of these materials for both the selective and total oxidation of organic molecules for the respective production of value added products and environmental protection.

I supervise and conduct research on the following projects in collaboration with multiple academic and industrial partners:

Industrial Collaborations

  • Adipic acid production utilising green oxidation procedures (INVISTA)
  • Gold catalysed production of VCM from acetylene hydrochlorination (JM)
  • Production of fragrance molecules by oxidation (IFF)
  • Catalytic abatement of organic molecules within PET (Colormatrix)

Academic Projects

  • Investigation of metal-free carbocatalysts for oxidation reactions
  • Selective oxidation of biomass molecules for production of value-added projects
  • Synthesis and evaluation of novel MOF materials with Hiearchical porosity (Bristol University)
  • Novel photocatalysts for the abatement of organic pollutants and hydrogen production (Chiang Mai University)
