We provide a wide range facilities with modern technological teaching, learning and research tools to support your degree programme.
Our range of open access computer rooms contains cutting-edge technology and digital editing software specifically for students in broadcasting and journalism. Our computing facilities are continuously being expanded and enhanced to meet the evolving demands of our students.
Students also have access to a wide range of professional quality video and sound equipment such as recorders, digital cameras and digital video camera that can all be booked out and used for free.
Our school has a specialised library situated on the second floor of the Bute Building that is a large and constantly growing resource for our students. It contains almost a million volumes and over 12,000 different journal titles accessible in digital and print formats.
The Bute Library is a part of Cardiff University's comprehensive library service, which is organised into a network of libraries all linked through a powerful computer system. This makes it simple to find books and journals as well as to reserve books and check details of borrowing with the touch of a button.
Much more than a place to borrow books, journals and DVDs, our library also offers a list of specialised services and workshops for students at every level of study including:
- hands-on library workshops to demonstrate the most appropriate information resources
- advice on citing references and using EndNote
- one-on-one consultations with the School's subject librarian
- printing and photocopying services
Our library is also designed for multi-purpose use, with private and group study areas, a comfortable lounge and multiple computer rooms. Laptops are also made available for use while at the library to accommodate flexibility in movement while you study with us.
