The School of Biosciences offers access to cutting-edge research equipment and facilities via central technology hubs.

These technology hubs combine equipment support with integrated research expertise that is aligned to the School’s research themes. Researchers can access resources and support via these central hubs and associated research groups throughout the School of Biosciences.

Confocal microscopy at the Bioimaging Research Hub

Bioimaging Research

The unit provides a broad range of high resolution light microscopical imaging services including a Zeiss LSM780 confocal with Airyscan and fluorescent correlation spectroscopy.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI

Experimental MRI Centre (EMRIC)

The Experimental MRI Centre Research Hub offers flexible non-human in vivo imaging with full technical support for both magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Stem Cell and Flow Cytometry Unit

Single Cell Analysis Research

We have fluorescent activated cell sorters and tissue culture facilities, a time-lapse fluorescent microscope and ultra low temperature tissue/cell storage facilities.
