SUMMER FETE - Saturday 9th June

The day was very successful and everyone seemed to have a great time.  The weather turned out sunny and dry - the only good day in a week full of rain and the following week was not too good either.  We were very lucky.  There was a fantastic turnout so many thanks to all who came.  The total amount raised was approximately £1200.  A very successful day.

We are spending a lot of the money on two fences, one each for outside Adventurers and Discoverers to give them a small area to permanently allow the children to choose outdoors or indoors.  Both rooms will obviously still have time in the large garden area but this just gives them a lot more freedom.  It is due to be delivered during the middle of August and you will then be able to see the benefit of this.

Thank you very much to all who sponsored Jacqui and she raised a total of £590 for her bush tucker trial - not sure she will do it again!! I am sure between staff and parents we can come up with something just as good next year.  Get your thinking caps on.

Watch this space for photographs shortly.

The highlight of the day will be Jacqui's 'Bush Tucker Trial'.  No bugs are safe (except she will not eat any live ones - that what she thinks!!) Watch this space for photographs.

We are collecting Tesco Vouchers for Schools.

Chinese New Year - The Year of the Dragon

The whole nursery from babies to pre-school have been joining in the celebrations.  There has been craft work where display boards have been produced, beautiful colouring's and very importantly food tasting from China.  The food tasting was thoroughly enjoyed by all children and staff, including the babies which can be seen on the photograph below.  Pre-school children have learnt about the decorations where everything must include gold (real or otherwise) to symbolise wealth and red to symbolise good luck.  The children had gifts for each other where they had red envelopes and could either put in paper money (pretend!) or gold chocolate coins, there is a photograph of this below.  A great time was had by all for this celebration.

Christmas 2011

A fun-filled Christmas party was had by all with a special visit from Father Christmas. All staff dressed up in fancy dress for the occasion, some of which you can see below.

While taking healthy eating into account, we did spoil the children with some treats at the party which they thoroughly enjoyed.  Here are some of our photographs
