Cardiff Case Studies

The Cardiff School of City and Regional Planning is a centre of excellence in teaching and research in Human Geography. Together with the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, we have developed the Cardiff Case Studies initiative, through which we hoped contemporary research can be used to inform the teaching of Geography in classrooms across the UK.

From this website Geography teachers and students are able to download case studies free of charge. The case studies can be used as illustrations by teachers, and students might choose to cite them in their coursework or exams. These case studies also provide students with an insight into the topics being taught and researched at Cardiff University.

Please follow this link for a full Introduction to the Cardiff Case Studies initiative and their possible uses.

Each year Geography teachers are invited to attend a Cardiff Case Studies event at Cardiff University, where they will be able to meet the authors of the case studies and find out more about recent research. The programme for the June 2012 event is now available. The 2012 event will be held on Tuesday 12th June - follow this link to book your place.

For further information on the Cardiff Case Studies initiative please contact Dr. Peter Mackie, MackieP@cardiff.ac.uk
