Student wins Bill Unsworth Prize

The Royal Town Planning Institute Cymru awards an annual prize to students in the first year of the BSc City and Regional Planning. The Bill Unsworth Prize recognises excellence in coursework and examinations in the first year of the professionally accredited undergraduate programme.

The award was made to Elen Jenkins in 2009-10 academic year, and Elen is pictured receiving her award from Lucie Taylor as Chair of RTPI Cymru.

Elen has already secured practical experience with her local planning authority, Rhonnda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, and is now undertaking her second year of the course.

The award commemorates the contribution made to planning in Wales by the Welsh Office planner, Bill Unsworth, and is awarded annually.
