Public lecture hosted by the Innovation and Engagement Unit.
The UK’s economy is responding to an unprecedented shock that has opened up the question of what economies are for and who they should serve. As a green economist I would like us to respond to the crisis by proposing an economy that lives within the limits of the planet and foregrounds equity. My presentation will focus around three key ideas: resilience, local multipliers, and the need for an industrial conversion.
