Professor Tridib Banerjee, Sol Price School of Policy, University of Southern California, LA.
Wednesday 31st October 2012 - 5:30pm
Committee Rooms 1&2, Glamorgan Building
Public lecture hosted by the Innovation & Engagement Unit.
Tridib's lecture will discuss the theme of public space with a critical perspective that questions neoliberal enthusiasm about privatisation of public space, implications of surveillance (CCTV, as common in London) and the Fourth Amendment rights against search and seizure (in the US), and opportunities that the ICT revolution has brought to re-engage community from cyberspace to real space (from "Facebook" to "Face Block" so to speak), drawing from two recent articles Tridib coauthored with others.
