Research Interests
Peter has a broad set of research interests that cannot easily be assigned to a single discipline. Trained as a Human Geographer, his PhD focussed on children’s involvement in the informal sector and today the informal sector in developing areas continues to be a focus of Peter’s work. On completion of his PhD Peter took up the Senior Researcher post at a homelessness charity where his research inevitably focussed on housing and homelessness policy. As a Lecturer at Cardiff University, he continues to undertake research which informs housing and homelessness policy, whilst also drawing upon and developing theoretical insights. Children and young people have been a key focus in Peter’s informal sector studies and his housing and homelessness research, hence this forms a third topic in which Peter is interested.
