- This workshop is here to help you understand how perfectionism impacts detrimentally on your life.
When you aim for perfection, you discover it's a moving target’ - George Fisher
Are you always putting yourself under pressure to succeed? Do you always feel disappointed with the work you do? Are you frequently self-critical? Do you have such high standards that you feel low, anxious or worried because you cannot attain them?
This workshop is here to help you understand how perfectionism impacts detrimentally on your life. This workshop will teach you techniques and strategies to help you gain a healthier balance in your life. It is designed to help you re-focus on achieving high, realistic standards, rather than pressurising yourself to attain unrealistic and unachievable targets.
Coping strategies that you learn in this workshop will stand you in good stead in the workplace too. Knowing when you have worked long enough on something, when you have reached the correct standard of work for a customer, knowing that you have prepared sufficiently for tomorrow's presentation to a client - these are all essential self management skills which will enable you to be happier in the workplace, more employable and a better member of a team.
This workshop can also be attended as part of the SDS's Certificate of Professional Development qualification. For further information please contact John Steele at the SDS - SDS@cardiff.ac.uk.
