Vicky Groves (Deputy Head of Counselling)

Vicky is a deputy head of counselling for the Park Place branch of the service. She is both a counsellor and supervisor. Prior to this she worked several years for the Counselling Service on a part-time basis.

Her approach is mainly Cognitive Behavioural (CBT); linking thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This approach allows us to observe unhelpful thought patterns and offers the opportunity to develop alternative ways of managing/coping and promotes change.

Vicky's main interests and expertise lies in eating disorders, anxiety/trauma and self-esteem. She adapts her approach to fit clients’ needs and incorporates other skills such as EMDR for trauma.
