How I work
The foundation of all my work is listening. I strongly believe that everyone has a unique story which deserves to be heard. If you were my client, I would listen to you story with a view to helping you to identify the thoughts feelings and behaviours that are troubling you, and to find alternatives which may work better for you. Often my clients find that the listening in itself is what helps the most, and the ability to change things comes only when they feel they have been fully understood.
Areas of interest
Having previously worked as a business consultant in training and development, I am naturally drawn to writing and running workshops for groups of people. I enjoy the energy and creativity when groups of people get together to solve a problem. I am particularly interested in the powerful effect of being outdoors, and have run many outdoor team skills programmes for various businesses.
Background and qualifications
I am a BACP accredited counsellor. I qualified with a post graduate diploma in Therapeutic counselling in January 2011, and completed my masters in 2012, gaining my professional accreditation in 2013. I specialised in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for both my Diploma and Masters. Since graduating I have also trained in online counselling, enabling me to see clients using a variety of different media as well as face to face.
