Cathays Campus Conference & Meeting Facilities

A number of meeting venues are within walking distance to our residences making Cardiff University an ideal conference venue. Please find below some general details on the meeting facilities we have available on the civic centre campus.


Glamorgan Building

(Number 49 on University Location Guide)

Located at the heart of the civic centre, Glamorgan Building provides a range of facilities from fixed lecture theatres for up to 102 delegates plus a wide range of seminar rooms seating up to 80.

Main University Building

(Number 39 on University Location Guide)

The Main University Building is able to provide a range of lecture theatres seating up to 208 delegates with a large space for exhibitions, poster sessions, launches and meetings.

The Main Meeting rooms are:

Tower Building

Situated in the heart of the University Campus the Tower Building has 3 main lecture theatres available:

Julian Hodge Lecture Theatre and Foyer

(Number 14 on University Location Guide)

A modern lecture theatre seating 460 delegates with a large foyer and adjacent to the JHB Lounge and Dolce Vita Coffee Shop.

These venues are only a small selection of what may be available. We will be happy to discuss your event and suggest a location suitable for your needs and check for availability.

Catering

A full catering service is available, which includes refreshments and/or buffet lunches delivered to each venue, conference banquets and evening gala dinners.

Accommodation

We have a number of residences within walking distance to our meeting facilities for residential events during the Summer Vacation Period.

Our accommodation is arranged in flats of varying numbers with each flat having its own kitchen/dining area equipped with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and ironing board. Please note irons, adaptors and hairdryers are available from reception if required.

The cost of the room includes towels and bed linen, tea/coffee making facilities and VAT at 20%. Other facilities available are free parking for residential guests and a launderette.

Depending on your requirements we will be able to advise you which University residence would be most suitable for your event.

Parking

Limited parking for residential guests can be arranged. Where necessary, permits can be collected at the same time as the bedroom key.

Additional meeting facilities and full catering service are also available at both Aberdare Hall and University Hall.
