Paper submissions

We ask that all presenters upload their full conference papers to allow fellow presenters to read each other's work, and special issue editors to plan conference editions of their journals.

Papers must be no more than 5000 words long, including:

  • title
  • author name
  • abstract
  • keywords
  • text
  • acknowledgements
  • notes
  • references
  • tables and figures.

They should be saved in either Microsoft Word or PDF format.

Please indicate if you DO NOT wish for your paper to be considered for the special issues. These papers will be available in a secure, password-protected area of the conference website for fellow presenters to read and download prior to and during the event. Your submitted paper will not be made available publicly.

Please submit papers as email attachments to by midnight (GMT) 1 September 2017 at the latest.

Journal special issues

A selection of the research-based papers presented at the conference will be published in special issues of the international peer-reviewed journals Digital Journalism, Journalism Practice and Journalism Studies, respectively.

Further details about the peer-review process will be announced in due course.
