We provide advice in planning and managing public engagement events and we are also able to provide practical support at events.
Event planning and management
- We can help in designing posters and promotional material for your event.
- The Community Engagement Team has an extensive list of external contacts, including schools, community centres, libraries, doctors’ surgeries and more. All events can be advertised through these.
- CET can arrange for events to be advertised internally throughout the university.
- We can arrange for Uni-Staff to provide extra support, guiding visitors, manning cloakrooms, etc.
- We can advise on creating exhibitions for events.
- We have a lot of experience in assisting academic staff with submitting bids for funding for public engagement projects from bodies including the Royal Society, Wellcome Trust and the ESRC.
Practical Support
- We have high quality audio and visual equipment available for loan.
- We have a laptop and data-projector for presentations and visual displays.
- CET has lots of equipment that we loan out for creating displays and stalls, including tables, display boards, branded tablecloths, leaflet holders, a 3x3 metre marquee and beanbags. We also have University branded clothing (fleeces and rugby shirts) For further details, please contact us.
- We can provide advice on organising events and how to target engagement projects to specific audiences.
- We can run a public bookings system.
