Research Expertise relevant to tissue engineering & repair:

I am currently working on a project that is investigating why there is a lack of integration of repair tissue with surrounding host cartilage.  My specific role in this project involves looking at whether increasing the number of viable chondrocytes at the wound edge promotes tissue integration.Alongside this, I maintain an ongoing interest in the role of inflammatory cytokines in articular cartilage degradation with particular focus on TNF-α and the PKR signalling pathway.
