Translating (at) the Border
The Cardiff Research Group on Politics of Translating (CRGPT), School of European Studies is organizing two workshops on the topic of:
TRANSLATING (AT) THE BORDER
In the dual perspective of a globalised world and of the European Union the notion of border calls for new definitions. Its theoretical and practical acquaintance with boundaries-crossing should allow translation, in a broad sense, to provide relevant insights and inputs regarding this issue. CRGPT’s “Translating (at) the border” workshops aim to draw together contributions from an open range of disciplinary and cultural backgrounds.
The first workshop will take place Friday 30 April 2010 with Prof Michael Cronin (Dublin City University) as key-note speaker. Full details of the confirmed programme can be downloaded here.
The second workshop will take place during the autumn semester (date to be confirmed).
Enquiries should be sent to Prof Alexis Nuselovici (NuseloviciA@cardiff.ac.uk) or to Dr Esther Milardi (MilardiE@cardiff.ac.uk) .
These events are supported by the School of European Studies, and Cardiff Humanities Research Institute.
