About CHRI

The Institute's mission is to, “promote and develop the visibility and value of Cardiff Humanities research cultures, environments, people and achievements, to the University, and to national and international audiences.”

Humanities Schools encourage research collaborations, knowledge-sharing, intellectual debate and exchange across all areas of academic research. It hosts a seminar series, provides seed-corn funding for the early stages of networks or projects, supports one-off events or public lectures, and sponsors working papers and research dissemination.

The activities of the Institute are informed by the Humanities Strategy Group, which consists of the Heads of Schools in the Humanities. Directors of Research for each of the Humanities Schools drive forward these activities, along with colleagues from across the Schools.

We are a member of the Consortium of Institutes of Advanced Studies

We welcome suggestions for activities, events, projects or collaborations the Institute might facilitate.  Please contact us with your ideas.
