Dr Stan Golunski Project Titles
1. Water purification by catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO)
At the Cardiff Catalysis Institute we have been working in the field of catalytic oxidation for several years. We now want to use this expertise to study and develop catalytic technologies for removing organic contaminants from waste water. So far, most CWAO studies have been carried out using batch (autoclave-type) reactors, but our aim is to make the process continuous. The objectives of this project will be to design an active and stable catalyst, and to identify the optimum conditions for its operation in a trickle-flow reactor. A background in chemistry or chemical engineering is required.
