Science and the Assembly
24 June 2013
The Royal Society of Chemistry annual event at the Welsh Assembly Government building in Cardiff Bay is an opportunity to discuss science in Wales and to engage with the public and Welsh Assembly members alike about the impact of science on the Welsh economy and society. As part of this years event an exhibition was held in the Senedd building. Dr David Willock, Soon Wen Hoh and Liam Thomas discussed the work of the Cardiff Catalysis Institute with those attending the meeting by using a selection of example catalyst materials and a large scale model of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) instrument that is used to study the structure of surfaces at the atomic scale. The exhibition was very well attended and the Cardiff displays attracted considerable attention from the public, attendees and Welsh AMs.
