Eight academic staff from the School of Chemistry elected as Fellows of the Learned Society of Wales
26 April 2011
Eight members of the School of Chemistry have been elected as fellows of the Learned Society of Wales in the Society's inaugural election cycle (Professors Bowker, Carpenter, Cavell, Harris, Knight, Knowles, Roberts and Smith). The Society, which was formed in 2010 to represent Welsh learning, elects its fellows against the criterion of a demonstrable record of excellence and achievement in an academic discipline. A total of 119 new Fellows were elected in this election cycle. The School of Chemistry now has 9 fellows amongst its ranks (including Professor Graham Hutchings who was a Founding Fellow), more than any other single university department."
