Welcome to the EPR/ENDOR spectroscopy research group web pages. We hope these pages give you a good overview of our research activities. Our research is devoted to the applications of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) and Electron Nuclear Double Resonance (ENDOR) spectroscopies in the fields of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, with a particular emphasis on the structural characterisation of paramagnetic species in frozen solution using hyperfine techniques. Housed in the School of Chemistry, the research group is well equipped with state-of-the-art spectrometers and facilities for handling air-sensitive compounds. We interact closely with scientists from diverse fields, and are always eager to consider new avenues of collaboration.

Spins under pressure: A mechanistic understanding of homogeneous catalysis by high pressure EPR. A 498K grant has been awarded to Dr. Damien Murphy by EPSRC to develop a high pressure Electron Paramagnetic Resonance system in the School of Chemistry.
