Breaking Into The World of Work - free events for Grads!
Events specifically tailored for Graduates who have graduated in the last two years or so, though other graduates are more than welcome to attend. The event will particularly suit those who are currently unemployed or those that feel underemployed and is open to all Cardiff graduates. These events aim to give you some tools and techniques to help address these questions and very importantly they are FREE! Graduate Advice & Support
Based at the Careers & Employability Centre, 2nd Floor, 50 Park Place, Graduate Advice & Support is an "Employment Advice Centre" for graduates, providing a first port of call to assess your career needs and ensure that you receive the most appropriate help and advice. You can access this service even if you live away from Cardiff.
Cardiff postgraduate students should use the online booking system to book a careers consultation.
Graduates from other universities have access to resources in the Careers & Employability Centre only. Available Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm, 2nd Floor, 50 Park Place.
Graduate Advice & Support provides
- Advice on career planning and options.
- Advice on Interview Skills and Assessment Centres, compiling a CV and completing Application Forms.
- Internet access for job hunting, researching employers and submitting on-line applications.
- Mock interviews and mock presentations.
- Access to a well researched Careers & Employability Centre.
- Access to a 30-minute Careers Consultation with a specialist for your field.
- E-guidance service
- Access to Careers Workshops, Fairs and Employer Events.
- Access to newspapers, stationery, postage and regular newsletters.
- FREE resources invaluable to any job seeker.

Evening Appointments
In addition to normal daytime appointments, 30 minute evening appointments are available on Wednesday evenings from 5.00pm until 7.00pm.
These appointments are specifically for graduates who are currently working full time or shift work and find it more convenient to attend in the evening.

1. To complete the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) Survey!
Help your Academic School and Cardiff University by completing this survey in November. Every UK University surveys its recent grads to find out about their employment and study outcomes. In November you will be sent a questionnaire. Please find time to complete this survey as the information you give will support the University’s Employability Strategy and serve as valuable information to current and prospective students.
2. To register with the Cardiff University Alumni Relations Programme!
Membership is free and wherever you are in the world, so long as you keep us informed of your contact details we'll keep you informed of local networking events, reunions and other activities exclusively for Cardiff graduates. There are active LinkedIn and Facebook Groups together with regular events in Cardiff, London and around the world.
