Biology Rocks!

Biology Rocks! is our annual interactive public event which takes place every October at the National Museum Cardiff.

Join our scientists, alongside staff from the National Museum Cardiff and the Society of Biology, to celebrate Biology and Earth Sciences Weeks where a series of interactive demonstrations are shown.

These events aim to excite, inspire and educate visitors about biology. You can learn about our research, the wide range of biosciences topics that exist and get meet our staff and students.

On the day visitors are encouraged to engage with as many demonstrations as they wish. They collect stamps on a postcard (one per demonstration) and are awarded with a small gift if they engage with most of the demonstrations on offer. We run the 'operation man', 'maggot racing' demonstrations and the Microbiology Society funded blast-a-biofilm interactive activity.
