Innovation Central

Designed by award-winning architects Hawkins\Brown, the building will work with business and society to create, test and incubate new initiatives.

Globally connected, the vibrant hub will nurture partnerships between entrepreneurs, business leaders, professional advisers, academics and students.

The Innovation Central building will be built on the Maindy Road site as part of the Innovation Campus. It will house two facilities, both working with business and wider society to make great ideas a reality.

The design includes cafes and creative areas, public open spaces, car parks and a bridge that will link Maindy Road to Cathays Campus near the Business School on Colum Place.

Innovation Centre

Equipped with shared spaces, labs and serviced offices, the Centre will work hand-in-hand with business, from start-ups through to established companies. World-leading academics will be based in the 12,000m2 building, offering businesses access to expertise from across the University. Located in the heart of Cardiff, the Centre will feature a range of new facilities that allow innovation to flourish.

Social Science Research Park

SPARK's researchers will share space with key partners in order to respond effectively to societal problems. They will create innovative solutions to problems within the public, private and third sectors, ensuring our academic work leads directly to real-world benefits.
