My current research area involves investigating the antimicrobial effect of Allium sativum (garlic), and extracted compounds against human and veterinary pathogens. During my PhD I aim to evaluate the antimicrobial efficiency of garlic against these pathogens, elaborate on its mode of action and assess its toxicity in in vivo models such as fish.

I have a particular interest in the protozoan fish parasite, Spironucleus vortens and hope to uncover more about the biochemistry and pathogenicity of this organism during my studies.
