Miss Mafalda Silva Pinto Basto

I am interested in conservation biology, especially of wild carnivores. I am mainly focused on responses to anthropogenic factors causing habitat fragmentation and reduction of habitat. Specifically I focus on landscape genetic analysis, combining spatial statistics, geographic information systems and molecular population genetics. In my research I will use Iberian cork oak forest as a model (a habitat of conservation concern) and two medium-sized carnivores with different ecological strategies (stone martens and red foxes).
