Biosciences courses (BSc)
Our innovative and dynamic degree programmes are highly flexible, enabling you to tailor your course to suit your interests.
We offer four main degrees for entry through UCAS:
- BSc Biological Sciences
- BSc Biomedical Sciences
- BSc Biochemistry
- BSc Neuroscience.
Option to specialise
Our courses are designed with student choice in mind. As you move through the course, you may choose to specialise in a particular area or even transfer to one of the other degrees offered by the School – either one of the four entry degrees listed above or one of our four additional ‘exit’ degrees:
- BSc Biological Sciences (Genetics)
- BSc Biological Sciences (Zoology)
- BSc Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy)
- BSc Biomedical Sciences (Physiology).
Your final degree title will depend on the modules you select in the second and final years. Our tutors will guide you through this process to ensure you graduate with a degree that matches your interests and career aspirations.

Depending on the modules you choose, you may also have the opportunity to benefit from our range of field courses, which provide hands-on experience of modern biological techniques and practical in-field skills.
We are committed to ensuring that our students receive an educational experience that prepares them fully for the next phase of their lives. As well as gaining subject-specific skills, our graduates also develop many transferable skills which are attractive to a wide range of employers.
In 2015, 86% of graduates from the School reported that they were in employment and/or further study within six months of graduation.
