Student Reseach Assistants
Four part-time Student Research Assistants (SRAs) are sought to contribute to a research project on improving the academic feedback that students receive. SRAs will work for up to 24 hours per semester in the 2013/14 academic year. SRAs will receive training and have the opportunity to practise and develop qualitative research skills including conducting interviews and focus groups with Cardiff students, recruiting participants and analysing data.
Suitable candidates may come from any discipline, but being a Cardiff University student and having an interest in qualitative research methods are essential. Students in the social sciences, communication and education are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be required to attend a training day and may also be required to be a Steering Group representative, attending two Steering Group meetings in Oxford.

Interested students are invited to apply by setting out in a brief letter their interest in qualitative research methods, any relevant experience, evidence of organisation skills and the ability to work independently, why they are interested in the project, and what they would hope to achieve from taking up the post. Candidates who have experience in discourse analysis should indicate this in their letter. This letter should be submitted by email to Andy Lloyd (LloydA@Cardiff.ac.uk ) by 12 noon on 30 September 2013.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a brief informal interview during October 2013.
