Centres

Our thematic research centres reflect areas of long-standing focus, expertise, and research capacity in the school.

The activities of each research centre build on a longstanding track record of funded research and impactful PhD student projects. Each centre specialises in a specific topic and type of research, guided by a senior director recognised as a leading expert in the field. Each is committed to making meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge in architecture and the built environment and/or to design thinking and practice.

Academic staff may be affiliated to one or more centres, allowing the flexibility to pursue a range of interests and maximise the potential for interdisciplinary working.
