9. Rebranding Ruthin

This studio is part of a live project with real clients in Ruthin, a market town in North Wales. Spending several days in the town and working with the town council, community groups and the public we will aim to gain an understanding of the town and its people. The studio will then explore contrasting scenarios for how the town could develop over both short and long term periods, providing alternative visions of the town’s future. Proposals will combine urban design, landscape and architecture to suggest new and original ideas about the physical effects of current changes taking place in rural Wales. The results of this study will be presented to the townspeople and exhibited in the town at the end of the Vertical Studio.
