Sam Clark

Sam is interested in the margins of architecture and architectural practice, including the broad fields of humanitarian practice and social sustainability. Sam believes that architects can develop capacities to serve communities; reaching beyond common perceptions of the architect as building aesthetics designer. Sam’s recent design projects tend towards identifying and adapting Remnant spaces for community occupation. He is particularly interested in forgotten waterscapes, including inland waterways and the opportunities they offer for water-based dwelling. Sam is currently researching small spaces as part of an ongoing project to renovate a residential narrowboat.
