On Saturday, 12th December the WSA will host the 6th AHRA (Arts and Humanities Research Association) Research Student Conference.

Please join us in the exhibition / crit room from 2pm-5pm for group presentations of urban conditions in Aberdare and for the exhibition opening and end of term drinks celebration at 5pm on Friday 11th december.
The exhibition will close on January 4th 2010.
Universities UK have launched a new website which follows up on their Greening Spires report published last year. Alongside other leading sustainability work from unversites in Britain, the site features, from the Welsh School of Architecture, The Low Carbon Research Institute, and also the Ty Unnos project

DRU-w at the Welsh School of Architecture won the Architecture and Surveying Innovation Award for ‘Sustainable Sitka spruce housing system: Ty Unnos - 'A house in one night'. This entry could make a real contribution to sustainable domestic housing.

International Student Design Competition 2009
Awarded second prize: Rachel Witham and Chris Wilkins
The RIBA competition sponsored by BUPA and DWA Architects sought a new approach to designing care homes for the elderly. Entrants were asked to respond to the demands of older people with diminishing mental and physical capabilities.
