Reflecting Wales 09:09
The Welsh School of Architecture in partnership with the Design Commission for Wales, and in collaboration with Design Circle RSAW South and Cardiff School of Art and Design, are pleased to announce an exhibition which highlights work from nine Welsh or Welsh resident architectural designers whose work critically defines, challenges, promotes, interprets or re-interprets themes of ‘place’.
Reflecting Wales 09 : 09 highlights nine young / emerging architectural designers who exhibit the potential to make a significant impact on design standards in our homes, working environments and the quality of places - cities, towns, villages and rural areas - in the decades to come. Held at Howard Gardens Gallery, Cardiff, the exhibition will open with a private viewing on 8th October 2009, and will be open to the public from 9th October to 4th November 2009.
The nine exhibitors selected following a jury selection are:
David Chambers / Steve Coombs / Aled Wyn Davies / Sarah Featherstone / Richard Golledge / Matthew Jones / Niall Maxwell / Chris Owen / Rhian Thomas.
The exhibition coincides with a design symposium hosted by DCFW and the WSA to be held on Friday 9 October 2009, at the former National Westminster Bank, Bute Street, Cardiff. The exhibition and symposium will both be key events within the Cardiff Design Festival 2009.
