20 Years of MSc Courses at WSA!

2013 sees the 20 year anniversary of MSc courses at WSA. We celebrated this milestone by holding a poster competition for our alumni.

This competition allowed our alumni the opportunity to publicise examples of their current work as well as a chance to win a prize. The 11 competition entries cover a broad range of our alumni: from our first cohort in 1993 right up to present day students, with entrants from as far afield as Mexico as well as entrants from Europe and UK. The posters also covered a wide range of topics from rustic timber cottages to mega buildings and from single building refurbishments to optimisation of rainwater harvesting for entire regions!

The posters were judged by Dr Mike Fedeski (Masters Convenor 1993-2010) and Dr Paola Sassi (Course leader 2005-2008). Both formal judges attended the WSA MSc Alumni Celebration, where there was also an informal vote. This vote allowed alumni, summer school students and MSc staff to be a judge for a night! All the judges (both formal and informal) agreed that the poster competition standard was very high and it was difficult to judge a winner.

The Winner!

Dr Katerina Meresi

Katerina is currently an Architect at the Municipality of Dion as well as a lecturer at the Hellenic Open University in Greece. Her poster considered the design and monitoring of an oil free, low energy house in Greece.
