How to apply

Who should apply

LCASP is suitable for undergraduates (normally years 2 and above) and recent graduates in disciplines related to the built environment, such as architecture, urban design, building services engineering, building technology or a relevant discipline in engineering or the built environment. The course is open to all international applicants with no specific English language requirements. However, applicants should note that the official language used for delivering the programme is English.

Please fill in the application form and email to LCASP@cardiff.ac.uk. Once your application is processed you will receive an email confirming your place on the programme and information on how to make the registration payment.

Fees and registration

Fees

The summer school fee is £1,100 and should be paid once a place has been offered on the programme. Deadline for applications is 1 June 2014. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first serve. For information on group discounts email Ms Nicola Lloyd LCASP@cardiff.ac.uk

Fees include

Accommodation at Cardiff University Student Residences (single, en-suite rooms with kitchen facilities), field trips, and course materials. Coffee shop vouchers and buffet lunch will be provided Mondays to Fridays at Cardiff University. Please note that fees do not include flight tickets or visa fees.

Visa arrangement

Cardiff University will provide a visa supporting letter to registered LCASP applicants who require a visa to enter the UK. Please allow at least 4 weeks in advance of the programme starting date (2 August 2014) for your visa application process.

You might need to submit your visa application using an online form. Please note that in order to choose the Student Visitor option, you will need to go through the following steps:

  • Type of Visa: Visit
  • Purpose of Application: Special Visitor
  • Type of application: (Special) Student Visitor, up to 6 months

If a visa is refused we will refund the full fees provided the visa application was submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the summer programme.
