The wind tunnel and sky dome facilities can provide an unique facility for simulating wind and sun effect and are used for environmental scale modelling.
CRiBE was commissioned to provide an environmental assessment of the wind effects on the natural ventilation strategy of the refurbishment of office buildings for Hampshire County Council..These assessments were made using the boundary layer wind tunnel facility on a physical scale model of the site. Results are now being used to inform the detailed design process.
