Responsibilities

Catherine is working as part of an interdisciplinary team on the Sustainable Building Envelope Demonstration (SBED) project to design, model, test, prototype and monitor low carbon buildings systems using integrated solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies in buildings in use. SBED will closely monitor the construction, implementation and real life performance of the demonstration systems, disseminating best practice to the wider industry. Catherine will focus on the architectural integration of the renewable energy systems which will include aesthetic as well as functional issues.  She will also be responsible for setting up, conducting and recording the outcomes of interviews, and the design and construction of surveys in order to evaluate public perception of building envelope energy generation.

Catherine is a qualified Architect and registered with the Architects Registration Board.  She trained at Queens University Belfast and completed her postgraduate Diploma in Professional Studies at University College Dublin. She has worked within a number of architecture offices over a seven year period; contributing to a variety of projects, ranging from private homes and renovation projects through to large commercial projects.
