Involving the Public
The Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre aims to increase understanding of the causes of arthritis, to improve treatment and prevention. Volunteers who have healthy joints or who have been treated for injury or arthritis can volunteer to help our research in a variety of ways.
Recruiting patients – how you can help
We are currently recruiting at Local Orthopaedic and Trauma Clinics in Cardiff. If you do not meet us in clinic or you are being treated elsewhere and would like to learn more about our studies, please contact the Centre’s Research Co-ordinator, Dr Andrea Longman.

Our patient recruitment is supported by the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research Clinical Research Centre (NISCHR-CRC), which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government to improve people’s health and wellbeing through research.
