Hand/Mobility Impairments

The following key guidelines are important considerations for all users with hand and/or mobility problems:

  • If Flash or Scripts are used, ensure that the web pages are usable with a keyboard as the user may not be able to operate a mouse. (WAI Level 2)
  • Ensure a logical tabbing order through all page elements. (Level 3)
  • Limit the number of links on a single page. (Recommended)
  • For mouse users, image and text links should be of standard size for example, text size 12. (Recommended)
  • Image and text links should not be placed in close proximity to each other. (Recommended)
