Training and Support for Mentors

All Mentors must complete full Mentor Training which involves one full day of training delivered by an external team of consultants and a further half day training. It is essential that all mentors engage with this training as it equips them to take up their role with confidence and knowledge.  The dates for our next series of training are listed on the Student Mentor Job Description.

In addition Mentors are supported throughout their activities by meeting with the Manager of the Academic and Skills Development Centre.  They must attend at least three meetings per term as well as meeting with their assigned Mentor Consultant. These meetings allow Mentors to discuss any issues they might have as well as share good practice with other mentors and become part of the wider Mentor Community.
