Royal Visit 1912
King George and Queen Mary visited in 1912, opening the Viriamu Jones Research Laboratory and appearing on the balcony of the Council Chamber.
Students gathered in the grounds below and sang two verses of the College song, and regaled the visitors with the College yell.

The picture shows the royal party in the Drapers' Library, which is now the Science Library and had a mezzanine floor installed in 1977.
