Race for Diversity Conference
Cardiff University hosted a Race for Diversity in Law Seminar for students of the university and pupils from local schools. Eminent lawyers and barristers from London law firms gave keynote speeches at the conference, aimed at encouraging both undergraduates and sixth-form students from ethnic minorities to pursue a career in law. Opportunities were provided for attendees to ask questions about ways of entering the profession and about the lifestyle that is attached to legal practice. The event will be repeated in the coming academic year.
Race for Diversity in Law Seminar: ‘I think this is a very important step in raising the profile of the diversity issue amongst law firms and chambers and it gives a very positive message both to undergraduates and pupils considering Higher Education options. The conference was an opportunity for them to see how the study of law can result in genuine opportunities career-wise. Hardeep Nahal Partner, Litigation and Arbitration Division London
