Grants Awarded 2005

The SCAN Committee met in July to consider the bids that had been received for awards from the Local Community Causes Fund (25% of monies raised by SCAN, with the exception of the Summer Ball, goes to this fund). The Committee agree to fund the following bids:

  • Student Volunteering Cardiff - £150 towards the funding of the WATCH project, which works with homeless people.
  • Age Concern (Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan) - £200 awarded for funding an annual party for older residents of the Gabalfa area, to help to combat social isolation.
  • Victim Support Wales - £187 awarded to help meet the costs of running a training event for local VSW volunteers.
  • The Hollies School - £200 awarded to help fund respite play and care services for special needs school children during the summer holidays.
