I am proud to welcome you to Cardiff University’s “125” web pages which celebrate a hundred and twenty five years of the University’s life and work.
Now rated as among the top University institutions in the world, Cardiff has earned an international reputation for its research and teaching.
From humble beginnings Cardiff’s achievements over the past 125 years are a source of pride and an inspiration to those of us who are working and studying here today, just as I hope they have been to all of the staff and students who have been part of our community over the years.
During 2008 a series of events have been planned to allow all who wish to participate in celebrations the opportunity to do so. Further events and activities are still in the planning stage and your views on how we celebrate our past, our present and our future are welcome. Details are available elsewhere on this site. Please take the time to look at what is planned and see how you can both participate and possibly contribute. Our theme is “Giving”: Cardiff University giving to its various communities and stakeholders and the stakeholders in their turn, giving something back to the University.
As we celebrate our heritage through reflection upon our past, it is important that we recognise that all that has been achieved provides a strong platform for the achievement of our current priorities and our challenging vision ‘To be a world-leading University”.
